Every animal deserves a second chance.
You can help make it possible.

The Ellensburg Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter dedicated to serving the animals and people of Kittitas County. Every day, animals come into our care needing veterinary attention, including spaying and neutering, microchipping, and a chance to find a safe, loving home.

These pets arrive through owner surrenders, as strays, or through animal control. While we continue to promote responsible pet ownership and spay and neuter services, our priority remains the same: providing comfort, care, and a fresh start for every animal that comes through our doors.

Make a donation.

Together the Ellensburg and Yakima Humane Society rescue, reunite, rehabilitate, and re-home 4,000 to 5,000 animals every year. We rely on donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations to save lives. There are several ways to contribute to our lifesaving efforts.

We can’t do this without you.

Behind every adoption, tail wag, and second chance is a community of people willing to lend a hand. Volunteers are a vital part of the Ellensburg Humane Society, helping care for animals, support events, assist visitors, and give pets the love and attention they deserve while they wait for a home.

Whether you have a few hours to spare or want to open your home through fostering, there’s a place for you here. You’ll make a real difference, meet some unforgettable animals, and probably leave with a little extra fur on your clothes.
